ABOUT US

We care about theater

Theater has always been about telling great stories. But as we seek to mount more ambitious shows, subpar tools and practices stifle our potential and hold the stories of tomorrow back.

Frustrated with the complex and redundant state of scheduling in our industry, we founded Prospero to build something better: a tool to help power the next generation of theater.

We hope you use it to create the productions of your dreams.

Our Mission

Prospero strengthens performing arts organizations through technological innovation.

Team

We are a team of artists and technologists with experience across the industry, from Broadway to youth theater. For the last decade, we called the production office, orchestra pit, and green room home. Today, we’re united by our vision of building technology that offers a better way to make theater.

Marketing, Administration & Partnerships

Hello! I’m Naomi. Growing up in a musical household, I developed a deep appreciation for the arts at a young age. I play several instruments and dabble in songwriting when the muse strikes. A year and a half ago I joined the Prospero team, not as a programmer but as an everything-else-er. I’m excited to work on a project that makes it easier for artists to develop shows for their audiences.

These days I live in my home state of Hawai’i with my husband Tizoc.

Travis Frank

Co-Founder & CEO

Hi! I'm Travis. I spent 8 years as a theatrical music director and 4 as founder & executive producer of a youth theater company in Seattle. With my time away from the stage during lockdown, I taught myself how to code and joined a programming intensive, where I met Matt. After 2 years of software engineering, I left the corporate world behind to create software for the community I come from.

I currently live in The Hague, The Netherlands, with my fiancée Leonoor and our two cats.

Co-Founder & CTO

Hi, y’all! I’m Matt. Born and raised in Huntsville, AL, I ended up enjoying a full decade in the world of the arts. I acted in productions throughout the country from Las Vegas to national tours and regional houses to Broadway itself. Subsequently, my work in the software development world has already led me from a Wall Street startup to a publicly-traded database company. Along with Travis, I dream of combining my passions, aided by my extensive experience in just about every level of professional theatre, to create the theatrical management tool that isn’t just a passing fad.

Software Engineering Intern

Hello! I’m Kyle. After 5 years as a technical crew member in the film industry, having done everything from driving around trucks full of lighting equipment to managing data workflows for feature films, I have made a jump into the world of tech. I recently taught myself to code, joined a co-working hub where I met Travis, and quickly identified with Prospero's vision of streamlining administrative processes for a creative industry. I like being able to think deeply about small problems which can have an impact on the mammoth task of organizing and managing a large crew of creative and technical people. Along the way I’m excited to learn more about theatre and everything it has in common with the film industry!
